  13.     The warnings about WidthHook are still true as of System Software 6.0.5.
  14. TextEdit calls WidthHook only sometimes.  Other times, it directly calls its
  15. own measuring routines.
  16.  
  17.     The good news is that there’s a chance that this will be fixed shortly.
  18. I’ll be reviewing some enhancements to the TextEdit hooks that’ve been put in
  19. with the TextEdit engineer once the DTS shutdown period ends.  It’s possible,
  20. though I don’t know for sure, that problems with measuring have been resolved.
